Henry D. Bloom, 81, of 331 West Sixth Street, Clearfield, PA died Friday, June 20, 2003 at the Clearfield Hospital.

Born December 2, 1921 in Boardman, PA he was the son of Ephriam Bloom and Anna (McCracken) Bloom.

He had worked at the former Harbison Walker Refractories machine shop for 55 years as a welder.

He was a member of Kerr Addition United Methodist Church. He was a life member of the Third Ward Hose Company, a member of the Fire Police, a member of F.O.E.Aerie #812 and a member of Michael Sicks Post #1785 Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife Ruth L. (Ott) Bloom whom he married April 18, 1947 in Clearfield, a daughter Barbara L. Nagy and a sister Mary Jane Ott all of Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

There will be no public visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Squad.
