Antoinette (Jean) Juliana Ballas, of West Mifflin, Pa., died February 2, 2007, at home.

She was born in Oliphant Furnace, Pa., and raised in Smock, Pa., the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Juliana.

She was the wife of the late Nicholas S. Ballas Sr., the loving mother of two sons, Nicholas S. Ballas Jr. and DeWayne R. Ballas, both of West Mifflin; grandmother of Stephanie, Derrick, Ryan and Alisa Ballas; great-grandmother of Ryder Collins Ballas; sister of John E. Juliana of West Mifflin, Josie Cooley Wyda of Uniontown and the late Dominic Juliana; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A registered cosmetologist, Mrs. Ballas was a member of Christ Light of the World Parish, Duquesne; active in local politics for over 50 years; a leader for the New Frontiers; and raised foster children.

Friends will be received in the WILLIAM S. SKOVRANKO MEMORIAL HOME, Richford and Commonwealth Avenue, Duquesne, where a blessing will be held today, February 6, 2007, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Holy Name Church, Duquesne with the Rev. Dennis Colamarino as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
