Bio by Rosita McManamon Pieffer

This is my Father, he was born March 1, 1930 in Sugar Notch ,PA, to Neil McManamon and Helen Gallagher McManamon, one of 6 sons Joseph, Thomas, Neil Jr.,James, Donald & Raymond, and 2 daughters, Dorothea & Mary.

In 1951 he married Catherine Spock and they had 5 children,3 sons and 2 daughters, Rosita, Donald Jr., Daniel,John Neil and Aileen.

He worked most of his adult life as a driver for Crescent Sportswear in NJ. delivering to the garment district in New York, and then at Mead Packaging, in Fairless Hills, PA, until he retired. He was a cancer survivor.

I have many fond memories of the things he would do with us, he made a sail and hooked it to s sled so we could go sailing on the school field after an ice storm, he took us ice skating and we would often skate to our grandparents house. He loved Holidays, Christmas, Halloween when he would often dress up and go out with us. But on the same note he was strict and growing up that was resented and boy did we have some disagreements !! but now I can see and understand why. he instilled in all his kids a strong work ethic, how to be fair and not take advantage of others.

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, where he, and his brothers Ray and Tom were stationed at Fort Sill, OK

He is survived by 8 grandchildren ( one passed 2 years ago), and 4 great grand children, many nieces and nephews, his brother Tom and sister Mary, and wife Catherine, and all his children.

He passed into the Light on Christmas morning 1998, I said that was so we could never forget the day, and it was his favorite holiday, to this day I can not hear the Song O! Holy Night without the tears coming, His favorite song of the Season.
