Funeral services were held at the Blake home Saturday afternoon at one o'clock.
When Emily was seven years of age, the family moved to Pennsylvania. Six years later her father felt the call of the West and brought his family to Wisconsin.
Here in 1849 she was married to Ephriam D. Cannon. In June 1867, Mr. and Mrs. Cannon came to Iowa, landing in Cherokee County, living first on a homestead in Cherokee township and a few years later moved to their farm in Minnesota, where Ephriam Cannon passed away October 19, 1900.
From that time on, Mrs. Cannon lived among her children. She was the mother of 13. Three passed away in their infancy, (Ephraim E. Cannon (1871-1872), Chancy, Olive). Fannie (Cannon) Ferguson died in 1922, Dr. Charles M. Cannon in 1923.
Survivors are Fred F. Cannon, Roosevelt, Minnesota; Mrs. Allie Coleman of National City, California; Clara May Butts; Mrs. Lena Garlock Barnes; and Florence Persis(Cannon) Smith of Plymouth, Iowa; Clinton J. Cannon, Elva Rose Goodrich, and Effie Blake of Cherokee. Also, twenty-nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a half sister, Mrs. Emma Gilbert of Milton Junction, Wisconsin, survives her at the age of 85 years.
