Jeanne Adele Holmes Guiney, 87, of New Kensington died Friday, June 10, 2005, in the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights. Born May 24, 1918, in Canfield, Ohio, she had been a resident of New Kensington since the age of five. She was a 1936 graduate of New Kensington High School. A long time member of the First United Methodist Church in New Kensington, Jeanne was a member of New Kensington Chapter No. 158, Order of the Eastern Star, Airys Temple No. 48, Daughters of the Nile, Pittsburgh, and the Duquesne Commandery of the Knights Templar Auxiliary No. 72, Penn Hills. She enjoyed arts and crafts, traveling, and the company of family, friends and her beloved golden retriever, "Tailor." Survivors include two sons, Dennis William Guiney of New Kensington and Timothy Willis Guiney; sister-in-law, Geraldine G. Palahunik of Conneaut Lake; two grandchildren, Stephanie Waltenbaugh of Arnold and Shawn Joseph Guiney of Arizona; and daughter-in-law, Sandie Tucker Guiney of Fountain Hills, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph Saylor Giuney, on Aug. 23, 2002, and her parents, Franklin P. Erck and Ardele Guahm Erck Holmes. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Bramwell Kjellgren. Private burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The Eastern Star will hold memorial services in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
