John Melmon Barnard Dies at Hospital
John Melmon Barnard, R. R. 2 Towanda, IL died at Brokaw hospital after and illness of 4 months.
He was born 1/7/1862 in Money Creek Township. He married Susan Mathias on March 1882. He attended the Trimmer school near his home in Money Creek and farmed in that region all of his life. He was a member of the Christian church. He farmed the family farm purchased in 1828 by his Grandparents, Melmon and Sinia Barnard.
He is survived by 3 children, Ernest E., Mrs. W. B. Eaton and Francis Leonard, one sister, Mrs. Joseph Hefner, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and Lucy Lee Jameson who has made her home with the Barnard's since she was 9 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, a grandson and one brother.
