Hall of Fame College Football Coach. Born in Jackson, Louisiana, he coached at Grambling State University from 1941 to 1997 and guided them to seventeen Southwestern Athletic Conference championship titles. His career record is 408 wins, 165 losses and 15 ties. During his career, Robinson coached such future NFL players as Doug Williams, Ernie Ladd, Charlie Joiner, Willie Davis, Sammy White and Charlie Smith. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, in 1997.
