Maxine was the daughter of Alonzo Franklin Bishop and Jeanette Amelia McInnes Bishop. Her sisters were Gladys "Evelyn" Bishop Burson and her twin, Ailene Faye Bishop. She married James "Gordon" Creasey on 3 October 1947 in Boulder, Colorado. Their children were Richard Wayne Creasey, Linda Jeanette Creasey Dodge, and Gary Steven Creasey.
