She married Grover B. Wixom on September 22, 1952, Oakland Co, MI. He died in 1864, in Washington, D.C. during the Civil War. Their children were Franklin B. Wixom 1853-1931, Flora E Huot 1855-1930, Arvilla Swain 1857-1952 and William Wixom born in 1860. Ellen married Miles Frank Trowbridge on November 13, 1867, Lansing, Ingham, MI. Miles #19205854. She was the sister of Joel, Edwin, Sophronia, Mary, Douglas, Ellen, Betsy, George, Arvilla, Charles and Emma Harger.
