Mr. Sullivan was also a Hendricks County farmer for many years until 1992. He was a member of the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie R. Shoulders Sullivan; daughter, Heather L. Sullivan; sisters, Fern Murray and Geneva Underwood; brothers, Roy, Terrill and Rodger Sullivan. He was preceded in death by a son, David Sullivan; brothers, Huston, and Gilbert Sullivan; and sister, Juanita Sullivan. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday September 24. Burial in Center Valley Cemetery, Belleville, Indiana.

Earl is my dad's brother and was always a big part of my life. He and his wife lived in Bridgeport when I was born and moved to Plainfield while I was still little. I remember spending time at their home which was the first place I ever saw an episode of Star Trek. Later they moved to a farm near Cartersburg, Indiana, and built a house there. In 1973, my dad bought the home from Earl and my dad spent the rest of his life there. Earl bought a farm down near Center Valley and farmed for many years. Eventually he built another house next door to his farm. That is where he and his family lived when he passed away.

What I remember most about my Uncle Earl is how tall he was as he took after the Polston side of the family so much. He also loved to laugh and share a good joke. His family meant the world to him and he meant the world to them.
