Musician. Lead singer of the popular 1990s rhythm and blues musical group Hi-Five. A native of Waco, Texas, but raised in Oklahoma City, Thompson was a talented composer, songwriter, and soul singer. He began his music career by singing solos in his church choir as a young boy. He was eventually noticed by a music producer, and he soon cut his first demo. Together with friends, Marcus Sanders, Russell Neal, Roderick Clark, and Toriano Easley (later replaced by Treston Irby), Thompson created Hi-Five and signed a music contract with the Jive Record Label in 1990. The band's self -titled debut album "Hi-Five" released in 1992, went multi-platinum and created a string of hits including, "Just Another Girlfriend", "I Can't Wait Another Minute", and "I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)". The band's follow-up album, "Keep It Goin' On" was released the same year, with the single, "She's Playing Hard To Get." Thompson released a successful solo album, "Sexsational" (1995), which featured a remake of Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour", then returned to Hi-Five for a few more albums with the group before calling it quits. He later became a successful record producer with his company, N'Depth. In 2006, Thompson re-formed Hi-Five but with a new line up which included his younger brother. The 'new' band released their debut album, "The Return" in 2006.
