Catherine White Baker, dau. of Benj. and Ansylvina (Gilbert) White was born at Conover, Miami County, Ohio on June 21, 1868. At the age of 12 years, she moved with her parents to Harper, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. On July 16, 1887, she was united in marriage to John S. Baker of Harper. To this union eleven children were born. She is survived by her husband and her 11 children. Also survived by one sister, Mrs. John Scott of Ottumwa and 3 brothers, Chas. D. White of Sigourney, Gilbert and Roy White of Harper. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Harper, later transferring her membership to Sigourney.
