Raymond Dangerfield;
Republic Steel retiree

Raymond B. Dangerfield, 80, of 3509 Market St., died of a kidney ailment Wednesday evening in South Side Hospital, where he had been a patient for five weeks.

Mr. Dangerfield was born Sept. 29, 1904, in Struthers, a son of Benjamin and Harriet Dangerfield. He worked at the Republic Steel Corp. for 25 years, retiring as a loader in 1966.

He leaves his wife, the former Gertrude M. Collingwood, whom he married Feb. 25, 1925; four sons, Gene L. and Richard, both of Youngstown, Tracy of Berlin Center and Joseph of Boardman; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A son, David, and a brother, Howard, are deceased.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
