From Der Nord Westen, 07 May 1903:
The report last week of the passing of Mrs. Kappelmann was not entirely correct, so please allow us to print the following corrected notice: The deceased was Sophie Dorothea Kappelmann (nee Embshoff), wife of Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Kappelmann in Town Kossuth. Mrs. Kappelmann fell ill 10 Apr. and despite the best medical help became weaker and weaker from the illness day by day until death intervened 21 Apr. She was born 10 Apr. 1825 in Hohenfelde, Hanover, and married in the early 50's to Mr. Kappelmann, her surviving husband. The couple came to America in 1861 and settled in Kossuth where they have lived ever since.
The couple had 8 children of whom only 3 still live, namely, 2 sons, Heinrich and Fritz, and a daughter Dorris who is married to John Stadler.
The funeral was held 25 Apr. at 1 p.m. Mr. Kappelmann wishes to send his heartfelt thanks to all those who attended the funeral and who have expressed their sympathies.
