Patrick Henry Pearse
Birth: Nov. 10, 1879
Death: May 3, 1916

Irish nationalist revolutionary. Teacher, writer and emotional orator. Signatory to the Proclamation of the Republic. Military Commander-in-Chief during the Easter 1916 rising; gave the unconditional surrender after one week. One of fourteen leaders of the uprising to be court-marshalled and executed by firing squad in Kilmainham Jail (a further 75 were condemned but reprieved).

Padraic was the person who read the Proclamation of the Republic on 24 April 1916 which was the beginning of the Easter uprising. (99years)
