Obituary:
Sarah Ellen Richards Cannon passed away March 27, 1988 at age 98 at her daughter's home. Born July 13, 1889 in Tooele, she was the daughter of President George F. Richards and Alice Robinson Richards.
She married Hugh J. Cannon in the Salt Lake LDS Temple July 26, 1917. He died Oct 6, 1931.
She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, having served as a worker in the Salt Lake Temple and for over 25 years as a member of the YWMIA General Board.
With her husband as mission president, she filled a three-year mission in the Swiss-German Mission.
She is survived by three sons and one daughter: George Richards (Lois) Cannon, St. George; Alice Richards Cannon (Lloyd R.) Hicken, Bountiful; Max Richards (Elsie)Cannon, Tucson, Ariz; and Dean Richards (Pauline) Cannon, Bountiful.
Other surviving descendants include 21 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother and sisters; Luciana Richards Card, Mamie Richards Silver, Nina Richards Woodbury, Edna Moselle Richards Wallace, Estelle Richards Taylor and Ray Richards.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Hugo Cannon, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30 at 2 p.m. in the Bountiful 42nd Ward Chapel, 850 E. 1800 S. Friends may call Wednesday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
