Francis I. Fallon, 82, of Clay died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the son of Francis I. Fallon and Anne Curtin Fallon and was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers. Born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, NY, he graduated Scarsdale High School, Class of 1943. He served in the Army Air Corps 330th Bomb Group (VH) and while stationed in Guam, he flew 28 missions over Japan. He graduated Harvard College, Class of 1948, and Columbia Law School. He practiced law for almost 30 years in New York City while residing in Scarsdale before retiring to Palm Coast, FL, and Burnsville, NC. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed playing golf and reading. For over 20 years he traveled to his 330th Bomber Group reunions and called Chatham, MA, his second home. He was a communicant of St. John's Church.
Frank is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fay Marie (Jones) Fallon; seven children, Frank Fallon of Mt. Tremper, NY, Fay (Dale) Baker of Steamboat Springs, CO, Cathy (Chuck) Olmsted of Greeley, CO, Joe (Elizabeth) Fallon of Liverpool, Tom Fallon of Chatham, MA, Margaret Fallon-(Mike) Ryan of Chatham, MA, and Jimmy Fallon of Chatham, MA; a sister, Nancy Devereaux of Boston, MA; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007, from Maurer Funeral Home, Moyers Corners and 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Church, 8290 Soule Road, Liverpool, NY. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3541 Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY. Military burial will be in Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
