Fredonia Censor: 13 Sep 1865
Died: In Villenova, July 31st, Mr. James, aged 87 years - Father James was an old and much respected citizen, a faithful Christian, and for over 60 years a adherent and much beloved member of the M. E. Church.
Nothing is known of Lewis before coming to NY except one entry for his marriage in Voluntown, CT. It's assumed he was part of the immigration of Seventh Day Baptists from Westery, RI to New York.
Both his and Hannahs stones had fallen over and hers was all but illegible so in 2008 this new stone was raised to replace the old ones; his foot stone remains in situ.
