He was born on October 5, 1912 in Bosque County, Texas to G. F. and Edith
(Lester) Landtroop. Loyd grew up in Ranger and was a graduate of Ranger
Hight School. He married Helen Savage on April 21, 1935 in Mineral Wells.
She preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 1990.
Mr. Landtroop worked for Ranger Machine Company starting when he was 18
years old until the company closed. He later worked for Lone Star Gas
as a machinist. When he retired he opened his own machine shop. He was
a member of Second Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in the machine
shop and gardening.
Survivors at the time of his death are two sons, James Landtroop of
Ranger and Michael Landtroop of San Antonio; a daughter, Linda Harris
of Ranger; one brother, Raymond Landtroop of Irving; four granddaughters
and 5 grandsons; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
