Lucy A. Davis-McPhail, 88, DeForest, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at a Madison, Wis., hospital.

She was born Nov. 21, 1911, in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Claire and Edna Parkinson Johnston. She lived for many years in the Adair, Iowa, area.

Mrs. Davis-McPhail was a member of the Adair, Iowa, Presbyterian Church and the ladies auxiliary at the church.

She married Dan Davis on July 31, 1932. He preceded her in death. She later married William McPhail on July 4, 1967. He also preceded her in death. A grandson, Victor Wright, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Colgazier, Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Twyla Davis, Montello, Wis.; two sons, Dan Davis, Montello, Wis., and William Davis, Sun Prairie, Wis.; a stepdaughter, Mary Dueul, Topeka, Kan.; three stepsons, Dean McPhail, in Hawaii, Larry McPhail, Blue Springs, Neb., and Gary McPhail, Topeka, Kan.; two brothers, Bruce Johnston, Des Moines, Iowa, and Merle Johnston, Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
