Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren for Walter S. Bragg, formerly of Stuarts Draft community, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph L. Gregory, in Richmond from a heart attack at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 1945 The Rev. Guy Stump assisted by the Rev. S. Loren Bowman, officiated at the service and burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Pall bearers were Charles and John Kindig, O. C. Flory, W. G. Bradley, and John and Charles Forrer.
Mr. Bragg was born September 14, 1853, the son of Catherine Gregory Bragg and Thomas Bragg. He lived in the Stuarts Draft area most of his life but had resided with his daughter in Richmond for the past 14 years. In addition to Mrs. Gregory, he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Luther C. Tanner, also of Richmond; and Mrs. W. N. Fitzgerald, of Ware Neck, Va., and one son, William C. Bragg, of Stuarts Draft.
