Molly was the daughter of Pedro, an influential Apache band chief, and wife of Corydon Eliphalet Cooley, a famous Indian Scout. Molly and Corydon's ranch was one of the most noted stopping places in eastern Arizona and guests were unanimous in their appraisal of Molly as a tidy and gracious housewife and as a generous and notable hostess.

Molly is buried between her husband and her son, but only a small wooden cross serves as a marker.
