Ethel Inez Monroe Winfrey, 92, of 518 Spruce St., Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2007. Mrs. Winfrey was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Dekalb County, Ala. She was a housewife. Mrs. Winfrey was preceded in death by her parents, David Franklin Monroe and Ada Tolbert Monroe; and her husband, Eugene Roy Winfrey. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Billie Winfrey Barker of Cedartown, Annette and Pete Holland of Sharpsburg, and Sandra and John Swain of Buchanan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward Leroy Winfrey of Smyrna and Ronny and Sandra Winfrey of Milledgeville; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 29 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Cedartown, with Dr. Bob Hoffman officiating. Music was rendered by Nancy Woods and George Barton. Interment followed in the Buchanan Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wade Swain, Bobby Marks, Charles Howard, Ernie Carringer, Richard Barker and Mickey Monroe.
