Mrs. Effie Ruth Rice, died of peritonitis at her home in Marysville on Wednesday afternoon of last week. Her death was a great shock to her family and many friends.
Mrs. Rice was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Albright, the latter now deceased, and was born at Grier's Point Aug. 21, 1894. She was therefore age 24-5-1 at the time of her death.
She and Mr. Rice were married April 19, 1916, in Marysville. Two children were born to them, Gladys, two years old and Ruth Jane, an infant, both of whom with the bereaved husband survive.
She is also survived by her father, W.A. Albright, of Grier's Point, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Amos Sheaffer, of Lancaster, Mrs. J.W. Simmons, Cumberland county; Mrs. S.H. Nace, Charles E. Albright, and George F. Albright, Marysville; Allen Albright, Cumberland county, and John Albright, Grier's Point.
The deceased was a bright pretty young woman and was a favorite in every circle in which she moved, both socially and in the church. She was a member of Trinity Reformed congregation, Marsyville. Her death is indeed a sad one, and her family have the sincere sympathy of all.
The funeral was on Saturday afternoon, services being conducted by her pastor, Rev. R.E. Hartman, and burial was made in Chestnut Grove cemetery
