He was the third of twelve children born to Sebastian and Frances Isabel (Senn) Wandler. He served in the United States Navy during the Second World War and Korean conflict. Following military service he owned and operated an Arco dealership in North Seattle, where he worked as an auto mechanic before retiring to Darrington, Washington in the late 1980s. He was the husband of Lena Canzian and JoAnne Littlejohn. He entered into marriage with JoAnne on February 16, 1955 in Seattle, King County, Washington. Father of Steven, Melinda Fitzer, Leslie Facchini, Rochelle Marshall and Jason Wandler. Grandfather to Zachary and Nicholas Fitzer, Nathan and Andrew Facchini, and Molly Marshall. Brother to Casper, John, Sebastian, Emilia Solsvik, Leona Graham, Henry, Shirley Ebentheuer and four siblings that died in infancy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his seven year old son Jason, brother Casper, step-brother Rolly Greff and step-sister Anna Livermont.
