Israel, Sr. was the son of David & Rebecca (Perley) Putnam and brother of Deacon Joseph Putnam.

He married (10 Sarah Eppes on Feb. 7, 1771 in Danvers. She died Ovct. 8, 1784, and he married (2) on Feb. 22, 1785, Mrs. Emme Prince, widow of Ezra Prince of Danvers who died July 10, 1831. Emme was born Jan. 21, 1743.

Allen b. April 11, 1772, d. at sea Nov. 10, 1793, unmarried.

Daniel b. March 8, 1774, d. Feb. 10, 1854.

Israel b. Sept.. 29, 1776, d. July 15, 1795, unmarried.

Sally b. March 6, 1779, d. Aug. 20, 1811.

Betsey b. Oct. 9, 1782, d. Oct. 23, 1864.

Israel Putnam was a generous & religious man. He had a round face and blue eyes.

Israel was a farmer who served in the American Revolution. His father, Richard was a Colonel. He was the nephew of the famous Major General Israel Putnam, who commanded (under George Washington) at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

Emma Goodale, who died July 10th 1831 aged 88.
Also of his two sons -- Allen who died at sea Nov. 10th 1793 aged 21 years.
Israel, who died July 15th 1795, aged 19 years.
