Descendant of the Slader Family

Ranch foreman, lumber inspector. His middle name comes from the surname of his maternal grandmother, Melintha A. Wilson. He was the twin of Carrie McDonald Bailey. He was married to Fannie B. Bryant, daughter of Oregon pioneers, Zephaniah S. Bryant and Luvina Creghbaum. He was the son of Nebraska pioneers, Judge David McDonald and Sarah J. Slader.

Orphaned at the age of 9 when both his parents died within six months of each other, he and his siblings were raised by their uncle, Milon M. Warner and their maternal aunt, Caroline D. Slader Warner. The Warners left Nebraska behind and in 1885 moved with their two nieces and three nephews to California in 1884 where they cultivated fruit orchards.
