Ruth was born in Lawshe, Ohio in Adams County the 2nd daughter of Philip Davidson and Ethel Dalrymple Davidson. She had 8 sisters. She graduated from Peebles high school and Wilmington college. had two daughters Dorothy Purdin and Mary Ester Purdin. She later married C B Cooper and had a son Michael Cooper. She retired from teaching school after 30 years and enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. She had 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was the step mother of Louise Purdin Jo Ann Purdin and Barbarba Purdin, the daughters of her first husband Dr. Martin L Purdin. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church in West Union. Ruth was know for always being there for others and putting others first.
