Mr. Banks died Monday, August 27, 2007 in Augusta.
He was a graduate of UGA with a major in agriculture. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World II, a member of the American Legion, the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, the Men's Bible Class and was the owner of Banks Nationwide Insurance Agency for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lennie Cox Banks of Vidalia; one daughter, Elaine Wilford (Lock) of Dublin; two sons, Jeffrey Banks (Debbie) of Evans and Dennis Banks (Gwen) of Vidalia; one brother, Don, three sisters, Pearl Shepherd, Dean Miles and Vera Kearney, six grandchildren and other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
