US Congressman. He was admitted to the New York bar in 1896, practiced law in New York City, was admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1898 and practiced in Jersey City. In 1907, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixtieth Congress, serving until 1909. Not a candidate for reelection, he was general counsel for the Adams Express Company and chairman of the board of directors for the American Railway Express Company until his death.
