Daughter of Dr. James Nisbet and Penelope Cooper. She first married William LeConte (son of Louis LeConte) in Athens, GA on 10 Oct 1833. He died 25 Jan 1841, buried Midway Cemetery, Liberty co., GA. She subsequently relocated with her 4 children to Macon to be near her older brother, Supreme Court Judge, Eugenius A. Nisbet. Their children were:

Sarah Ophelia LECONTE

She later married Eugenius' good friend and fellow Maconite, Edwin Bordsely Weed. They would have one child, Joseph E. Weed born 1850. They attended the First Presbyterian Church of Macon. After the death of her 2nd husband in 1854, she and her sister, Mary Nisbet, lived in Judge Clifford Anderson's household in Macon, GA. He was her son-in-law and uncle of noted poet, Sidney Lanier.

Note: The Georgia Historical Society currently has 3 pieces of Sarah's clothing in their collection. These include a dress from 1840, a black velvet and lace jacket and a corset.
