Daughter of Jeremiah & Lucy Virgin, Eleanor Virgin married "Indian" Van Swearingen 03 May 1786. After his death in 1793, the widow Swearingen married John Newhouse in 1799. John Newhouse died in 1830 and in 1850, Eleanor Newhouse lived with her daughter, Eliza J. (Newhouse) Fracker, and son-in-law, William A. Fracker, in Columbus Ward 2, Franklin, OH. Parentage, birth location, and marriage information are courtesy of Stephenson family genealogist, Karen Mateyka.

Mrs. Newhouse's birth & death dates along with interment in Green Lawn Cemetery are documented on the cemetery website. Per the cemetery index, she was born in 1763 and she died as Mrs. Newton, but the gravestone reads: ELENNOR VAN SWEARINGEN, died 1774. Dates and surname from index are entered for memorial. Perhaps the stone was added at a later date and, hence, the discrepancies.
