Glenn W. Phillips, 89, of 522 First Street, Waynesburg, died Tuesday, September 13, 1994, in Greene County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 24, 1905, in Higbee, Greene County, a son of George A. and Clara E. Whipkey Phillips.

Mr. Phillips was a 1925 graduate of Waynesburg High School and a 1929 graduate of Waynesburg College.

Following college, he worked as a teacher and football coach at Richhill Township High School.

He was employed as an inspector for the state Department of Highways for several years, and from 1942 to 1970, he was a construction supervisor for the U. S. Navy, Department of Facilities Engineering.

He was a member of Washington Street Methodist Church in Waynesburg.

Mr. Phillips was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and AARP.

On July 31, 1940, he married Mary Ruth Cree Phillips, who died in November 9, 1968.
