Born Nov. 11, 1925, in Cedar, he was the son of Henry and Anna (Radofski) Flees.
A former member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Joseph served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II and was a life member of the Old Kent Post VFW in Grand Rapids. For many years he worked for the Grand Rapids Furniture Company as a woodworker. In later years he established his own company, High Ace Cleaning, in Grand Rapids.
Survivors include a son; a brother; and five sisters.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Doris in 1995; his parents, Henry and Anna Fleese and Robert Micham; two brothers, Lawrence and Albert; and three sisters, Barbara Micham, Robin Micham, and Pauline Champagne.
