Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Corporal in Company G, 8th Missouri Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Vicksburg, Mississippi on May 22, 1863. His citation reads “Gallantry in the charge of the "volunteer storming party." His Medal was issued on August 31, 1894. (bio by: Russ Dodge)
