Geneva Gazette, April 18, 1818
MARRIED: In Gorham, Mr. Horace Clark, to Miss Parmelia Miles, all of Gorham.

"Parmelia" Miles married Horace Clark in 1818. Hopewell Pioneer Cemetery and Church records has the baptism of 5 Clark children: "Sarah, Winslow, Fisk, William and James, children of Sister Clark, Bapt. Dec. 1, 1833." On June 21, 1837, "Permilla Clark", of Hopewell, a widow, purchased land from Henry W. Taylor for $125.00. The land was described as "Part of Lot 47, next to the Turnpike Road, containing 2 acres more or less." In 1844, she gave a deposition concerning the settlement of her father's estate (to which she signed her name, as opposed to making her mark). She apparently married John Dudley sometime after 1844 but before 1850. John Dudley died April 12, 1854, and Permilia again became a widow. She is enumerated in Hopewell, NY census records with various spellings of her first name.
In 1850, she is "Permely" Dudley, age 48.
In 1855, she is "Permilia" Dudley, age 51, born Onondaga County, New York, a resident of Ontario County for 44 years, and the mother of Wm. H. Clark (who also appears in the household in that year.)
In 1860, she is "Parmelia" Dudley, age 58.
In 1870, she is "Permilly" Dudley, age 67.
