Born in England. Aged 55 years. In an unmarked grave with Owen Hargraves.

Yesterday an inquest was held by acting Coroner over the body of Mrs. Mary Hargrave in the west part of the city, who was found dead in her bed on Wednesday morning. It appears from the testimony of her son, that on Tuesday, his mother was washing and complained of being weak and chilly, but finished the work, and retired for the night as usual. Doctors were called and gave it as their opinion, from all that they could see and learn in the case, that the deceased came to her death by "congestion", superimposed by an impoverished condition of the system and exposure to cold. The deceased was about 55 years of age.

In our notice of the death of Mrs. Mary A. Hargraves, in yesterday's issue, we gave the opinion of the physicians, who were at the inquest. We learn that the language in which a portion of the verdict was couched, has conveyed a false impression to the public, and led them to the impression that her end was hastened by cold and privation, when such was not the case. She was well and comfortably supported by a son, who was absent at the time on business, and on leaving in the morning previous to his mother's death, requested her, on account of her health, not to wash on that day. We make the above explanation in justice to a son who revered his mother and did everything possible for her support and comfort.
