Funeral services for Velma Duchesne, 88, of Baskin were held 2 pm Tuesday July 1, 2014, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev Jimmy Goodman officiating. Interment followed in Baskin Cemetery.
Mrs. Duchesne was born May 6, 1926 in Coushatta to the late Jessie and Vallie Coleman Gilcrease and passed from this life on June 29, 2014.
Mrs Duchesne was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Mangham. She loved to quilt and work with her flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John Macon Duchesne; two sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter, six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
