Actress, Comedienne. A character performer of television, stage and films, she won a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway production of "The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window." She is best known to television audiences as Esmeralda in the 1960s series "Bewitched" and as Bernice Clifton in "Designing Women." During the course of her career, beginning in the 1950s, Ghostley would accumulate other television credits including, "Playwrights '56," "Car 54, Where Are You?," "Naked City," "Get Smart," Hogan's Heroes," "The Odd Couple," "Love American Style," "One Day at a Time," "Evening Shade," Touched By an Angel," and "Diagnosis Murder." Her film credits include, "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1962), "My Six Loves" (1963), "The Flim Flam Man" (1967), "Viva Max" (1968) and "Grease" (1978). Her other stage credits include "New Faces of 1952" and "A Thurber Carnival."
