GERSTLE, LOUIS B., 84, of Louisville, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Parkway Medical Center. He was a retired salesman, a World War II veteran of the 8th Air Force, a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church; St. Xavier High School and University of Louisville Alumni Associations; Assumption Council Knights of Columbus; Mgsr. Bouchet Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus; St. Joseph Home; VFW Post 3636; and the Lincoln Heritage Boy Scout Council. He was predeceased by his brothers, Fr. Fabian, OFM, Kenneth and Norbert Gerstle. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary A. Hellmann Gerstle; a daughter; Dr. Mary Lou G. Reichert (Walter); two sons, Patrick J. (Karen) and James G. Gerstle (Margaret); grandchildren, Jennifer Alexander (Jeremy), Casey, Chelsea, David and Zoe Gerstle, and Michael, Elizabeth and Rebecca Reichert; great-grandchildren, Raegan and Avery Alexander; sisters, Mary Zinner and Rita Ellison; and brothers, Alvin and Joseph Gerstle. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Bosse Funeral Home, Barret and Ellison Avenues. Memorials to Mass of the Air.
