Scientist, Inventor. Born in Lonborg, Denmark, he was a mathematician, statistician and engineer who invented the fields of queueing theory and traffic engineering. While working for the Copenhagen Telephone Company in the early 1900s, he was the first person to study the problem of telephone networks. His formula theories for telephone wire and wireless traffic exchanges are accepted as the basis for calculating circuit communication facilities world wide.
