Folk Figure. Probably attended Caius College, Cambridge where he took religious orders. In June of 1609, he and his wife left Plymouth, England for Virginia on the Sea Venture. The Sea Venture was wrecked off the coast of Bermuda on July 28th; though everyone on board the Sea Venture survived, it was the better part of a year before they made landfall in Virginia on replacement vessels. He served as the second minister of the Jamestown colony arriving in May of 1610. In April 1614, the Reverend officiated at the wedding of John Rolfe and Pocahontas and served as a witness to John Rolfe's will. He led opening prayers at the general assembly which convened in Jamestown in July 1619. He died four years later, shortly after the massacre of 1622, but it is unknown if his death is related to that incident.
