Cornelia was the daughter of Timothy Lockwood, Jr. and Elizabeth Derby Lockwood. She had an older brother and sister.

Cornelia's first husband was Lyman Moulton, a farm laborer. They had four children: William F. in 1856, Mary Frances in 1858, Newton Howard in 1861, and another who died young. William died at age 19.

Four years after Lyman died of diptheria in 1864, Cornelia married John Michael Fogil, a farmer. They had three children: Georgiana in 1869, Clarence John in 1872 and Florence Idella in 1874. Florence survived fewer than three years.

Cornelia was a farmer's wife who lived in Gilead all her life. She was very tall. She died after a painful illness of three years.

She had 18 grandchildren and 82 additional descendants as of late 2007.

Thanks to cousin Mary Lou Johnson for taking the gravestone photo and sending it to me.
