ROBERT COSGROVE GREENLEASE, SR. who was a true American pioneer and a titan in the growth and expansion of the Cadillac Automobile nationwide for over 60 years. Robert was the first individual to franchise the Cadillac Automobile West of the Mississippi River. He expanded and marketed the Cadillac first in Kansas City, Missouri and all points throughout the Midwest, West, North and South, long before this luxury automobile was a part of the General Motors Corporation. Cadillac continues as the premiere American luxury automobile and has been custom built for more Presidents and professional automobiles than any car in existence. The Greenlease name emblem tagged on the back of every trunk panel showing as "by Greenlease" will rightfully forever be synonymous with the Cadillac Automobile. Truly, two enduring American icons!

He was the father of Robert Cosgrove Greenlease, Jr., who was kidnapped and murdered on September 28, 1953. The Greenlease Family paid $600,000.00 ransom for Bobby's safe return, and this was the largest ransom ever paid in the United States up to that time!
