US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1787, commenced law practice in Williamstown, Massachusetts and was a member of the Governor's council, 1809 to 1812. In 1813, he was elected as a Federalist to the Thirteenth Congress and served until resigning in 1814. That same year he accepted an appointment as associate judge to the Supreme Court of Massachusetts and served until his death.
