Bertha H. Morgan

Bertha H. Morgan, 97, of Vienna died Sept. 13, 2004, in the Willows Center.

She was born at Sandyville, Jackson County, a daughter of the late Archie Lewis and Nancy Leeper Hannah.

Mrs. Morgan was previously employed at the former Parkersburg Silk Mill and Corning Glass. She had served as a cook at Vienna School for many years. She was a member of the Vienna Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Frances Blankenship of Vienna; four grandchildren, John Blankenship and wife, Sharon, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Bryan Blankenship Jr. and wife, Sherri, of Summerville, S.C., Jacqueline Walters and husband, Steve, of Parkersburg and Jim Blankenship and companion, Melanie Meeks, of Vienna; two step grandchildren, Dennie Ellis of Shallotte, N.C., and Jody Haddox of St. Marys; four great-grandchildren, Heather Blankenship of Rockport, Erin Gailbreath and husband, William, of Parkersburg, Stephanie Huffman of Devon, Pa., and Gavin Blankenship of Parkersburg; one step great-grandson, Clint Jones of Atlanta, Ga.; four great-great-grandchildren; and eight step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lloyd Morgan, in 1967; six brothers, Robert, Raymond, Harlan "Pete", Charles, James and Urshal "Buck" Hannah; one sister, Ora Kay Bennett; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with the Rev. Nathan Williams officiating. Services will conclude with burial in the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
