Orlonzo D. Kelley was born in Putnam County, Indiana, August 10, 1848 [son of John Kelly Jr. and Nancy Case], died at his home near Mineral Ridge, Iowa July 17, 1904 aged 55 years, 11 months and 7 days.
Mr. Kelley came to Boone county, Iowa, 1868 and was married to Frances A. Ridpath, April 22, 1877.
He leaves behind a faithful loving wife and five children, Maud, Howard, Claud, Ralph and Ella Bass, besides his father and two sisters, Mrs. John Robinson of New Towne, Missouri and Mrs. C.F. Sullivan of Boone Iowa.
All of the relatives were present at the funeral which was conducted at the home by Rev. E. H. Scoggan of Pilot Mound assisted by Rev. J.V. Wright of Mineral Ridge. A large company of neighbors and friends attended the funeral and accompanied the sorrowing ones to the Mineral Ridge cemetery where they laid away their dead.
