Mother Ruth Swanson was born May 17, 1921 in North Carolina, the daughter of Colonel Jack and Mammie Youngbey. Mother Swanson was a devoted member of New Jerusalem C.O.G.I.C. She served as a Sunday School Superintendent for many years and was one of the faithful mother's of the church.
Mother Ruth Swanson leaves to cherish her memory: son William "Billy" Sanders Swanson; several nieces and cousins; a host of other relatives and friends including Pastor Bishop H.B (Velma) Badon and the entire New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ family.
Mother Swanson was preceded in death by her husband, James Swanson; parents.
