Military Officer, Librarian. He was born and raised in Ottawa, son of Francis Henry Chrysler, K.C. and great-grandson of Col. John Crysler, Jr. of Crysler's Farm. He fought in World War I achieving the rank of Captain, and was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) for his acts of bravery in the War. Following the war he became a Lieutenant Colonel, and was appointed Officer in charge of the Governor General's Foot Guards. He was presented the Volunteeer Officer's Decoration (V.D.) for his post-war efforts. He was also the Librarian of the Department of National Defence.
