Thursday morning our community was startled by the sudden death of one of our most respected citizens, Samuel Barckley. Wednesday Mr. Barckley sustained an injury to one thumb which necessitated amputation and death came the next morning while clothing himself. A few minutes previous he remarked to his wife that he felt well, and he appeared in good health. Deceased was about 78 years old. He leaves a devoted wife, sister, son and grandaughter - all reside around here. Interment was made Saturday afternoon in Page Cemetery.
